These Booking Terms explain exactly how booking works when you use Cartout LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”). They are important because our role is different from that of a traditional travel agent. Please read them alongside our Terms & Conditions.
1. We plan — you book
Cartout LTD is an independent holiday-planning consultancy. We research and design your trip and provide a recommended itinerary. We do not make bookings on your behalf and we never take payment for travel. When you are ready to proceed, you book directly with each supplier yourself.
2. Your contract is with the supplier
Every travel arrangement you book — flights, accommodation, transfers, tours, car hire, insurance and anything else — forms a contract directly between you and the relevant supplier. We are not a party to that contract. The supplier’s own booking conditions govern your arrangement, including their rules on payment, changes, cancellation and refunds.
3. Before you book — please check
Because the booking is yours to make, you are responsible for confirming all details directly with the supplier before paying. We recommend you check:
- the full price, what is included, and any taxes, fees or extras;
- the exact dates, times, flight numbers, room types and passenger names;
- the supplier’s cancellation, amendment and refund terms;
- the financial protection (such as ATOL or ABTA) the supplier provides;
- baggage allowances, check-in requirements and any conditions of carriage.
4. Prices and availability
Any prices, fares or availability we mention are estimates based on information published by suppliers at the time of our research. They are not quotations and are not guaranteed. Travel prices change frequently and can rise or fall. The only binding price is the one the supplier confirms to you at the point of booking.
5. Passports, visas, health and entry requirements
It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all passport, visa, immigration, health and entry requirements for your destination and any countries you transit. Requirements can change, so we recommend checking official sources such as the UK Government’s foreign travel advice before you book and again before you travel. We can highlight general considerations, but we cannot guarantee entry to any country.
6. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book, covering cancellation, medical expenses, repatriation and your personal circumstances. We are not insurance providers and any cover you purchase is a contract between you and the insurer.
7. Payment
You pay suppliers directly using their own payment systems. We do not collect, hold or process any payment for travel, and we will never ask you to pay us for a booking. If anyone claiming to represent us asks you to pay them for travel arrangements, please do not pay and contact us immediately.
8. Changes and cancellations to your trip
Once you have booked, any changes or cancellations must be made directly with the supplier under their terms. We cannot amend, cancel or request refunds on bookings because we are not party to them. We are, however, happy to offer general guidance and help you understand your options.
9. Financial protection
Because we do not sell or process payment for travel, we do not provide ATOL or ABTA protection. Where protection applies to your trip, it is provided by the supplier you book with. Booking certain combinations of services separately may mean your arrangements are not financially protected as a package — please check with each supplier.
10. Our liability
We provide our planning service with reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for the performance, availability, cancellation, insolvency or default of any supplier, or for the accuracy of information published by suppliers. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
11. Complaints about a booking
If something goes wrong with a travel arrangement, you should raise it directly with the supplier first, as your contract is with them. If you would like help understanding the process, please see our Complaints Policy or contact us.
12. Contact us
If you have any questions about how booking works, contact us at info@cartoutltd.co.uk or on 0203 45454 0000.
